![]() Glad I only paid 299.99 for the Reverb G2 earlier this year, because I now pretty much regret even buying it. But because of the fantastic screens and amazing lenses, there's a clarity and presence I just can't get with the G2. ![]() Again, there probably was compression I could spot. So even though I wasn't sure the contrast was any better with Q3, every room I loaded up, I was able to choose a lighting preset that would have been too aggressive on the G2's LCDs. With the Q3, I've noticed I could choose the darkest lighting and not have details wiped out like would happen on the G2. With the Reverb G2, I was able to make a lot of these rooms darker and have more pop with the lighting. With the Index, I'd have to run the rooms super bright because otherwise the glare destroyed all immersion. I prefer a dark room with lot of neon glow. But the screens seem to be too.Ī lot of the VR rooms in Visual Pinball have different lighting presets you can cycle through. These optics are obviously a huge upgrade over Reverb G2. I'm pretty sure I could spot compression FX, but visually, early impressions are I still prefer it over the Reverb G2. There's the added latency over PCVR, but I do think it's consistent enough to be adapted to. Like I don't think I'd be able to tell it was streaming by visuals alone. Was running AV1, Extreme Settings, 200Mbps, and 90hz (dropped that down). I'm using the default head strap and it seems fine so far, great for chilling in bed and watching a movie.ĭid a bit of wireless PCVR with VD. Edit: Nearly forgot to say the comfort is better for me. I can also see myself using the headset as a portable Xbox when Gamepass comes to it. I think this is the first headset where movies actually look pretty decent and I can honestly see myself spending time in the headset watching things. Talking about movies, I think we might have finally done it. Also, I really like having passthrough on whilst watching a movie, it feels so much nicer to be watching something on a big screen within my room. I've found that when playing an MR game you kind of forget about the quality of the passthrough. However, I think it is actually good enough for MR. I've only tried the games with the system wide resolution bump so far though. Despite the resolution bump a lot of the games look a little soft. We are nearly there though, perhaps the next iteration will be it. Wow, the resolution is very high, however there is still a screen door effect visible and it's enough to slightly spoil the illusion.
